I watched the aftermath of the attack in Boston with a heavy heart and growing sorrow yesterday. The attack is a cowardly attempt to shake our confidence and faith and steal our blessings of liberty, and is a cruel reminder that we remain at risk. It’s also a reminder that, no matter the danger to themselves, Americans rush to the aid of others in need.   

Monica and I will continue to keep the runners, spectators, first responders and good Samaritans in our prayers and thoughts.

We will not waver in our efforts to bring those responsible to justice.
