Wenstrup Statement on the Inauguration of President Donald J. Trump

Washington, January 20, 2017 | Hailey Sadler (202-225-3164)

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) issued the following statement in response to the swearing in of Donald J. Trump and Michael R. Pence as President and Vice President of the United States of America at the 58th Presidential Inauguration:

“For too long, far too many Americans have felt like this country has been headed in the wrong direction and their voices have fallen unheeded by Washington. Today, those voices were heard. I offer my congratulations to the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

With a new administration and a new Congress, we as a nation embrace a unique opportunity to re-chart our way forward and accept a weighty responsibility. The decisions we make today will dictate the future and freedom of generations tomorrow. It is my hope that the next four years will be a time to see talk become action, priorities become realities, and skepticism become confidence. May our deeds leave our children and grandchildren grateful to us, as we strive to leave our United States better than we found her."
