CINCINNATI – Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-2) announced Ohio’s Second Congressional District’s 2015 Congressional Art Competition winners. Megan Allen, a senior from Goshen High School, won first place for her piece “Treasure Hunt.” Second place went to Sarah, a junior from Hillsboro High School, for her piece “Naturally Me.” Jenna Staehling, a senior from Goshen High School, won third place for her piece “Reaching Reflection.” Additionally, the Viewers’ Choice award sent to Molly Jorden, a sophomore from Archbishop McNicholas High School, her piece “Door Knocker.” This year’s competition had over 80 talented entries from across the Second District, and a panel of three local artists selected the winning entries.

“It is always amazing to see the work that these students submit every year," Wenstrup said. "We have many talented artists and a true diversity between each of the pieces. I look forward to seeing Megan at the Artists Reception at the Capitol this summer.”

Megan’s piece, “Treasure Hunt,” will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year alongside winning pieces from across the nation. Megan and a guest will be offered plane tickets to Washington, D.C., to see their art in the U.S. Capitol and attend an artists’ reception. The other winning artwork will be displayed in Wenstrup’s offices in Washington D.C. and Ohio.
