Wenstrup: “A Modern Trade Agreement for a Modern Economy”

Washington, October 1, 2018 | Ann Tumolo (202-225-3164)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) released the following statement after the United States, Mexico, and Canada announced that a new U.S.-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) agreement had successfully been reached:

“I am pleased that the United States, Mexico, and Canada have come together in agreement on a modern trade agreement for our modern economy. Ultimately, our goal in establishing trade deals must always be expanding and strengthening the American economy. It appears that positive strides were made on a number of issues that U.S. job creators have raised in regard to the existing agreement with these critical trading partners. I look forward to reviewing the agreement in detail, exercising the appropriate congressional oversight and legislative action to ensure that it benefits farmers, workers, and businesses in Ohio’s Second District,” said Congressman Brad Wenstrup.
