Wenstrup Statement On Legislation To Terminate National Emergency Declaration

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) released the following statement after voting against H.J.Res. 46 which would terminate the national emergency declaration relating to the U.S.-Mexico border:

 

“Unfortunately, the situation on our border is a humanitarian, health, and security crisis. By following the same steps as the previous two presidents under the National Emergencies Act, President Trump is within the authority of his office to declare a national emergency, and this is an emergency that is not over. We must not play political games with the safety and security of our fellow Americans,”saidCongressman Brad Wenstrup.
