Update on Syria |
|
|
Friend,
I am writing to update you on the unfolding situation in Syria. The loss of life in Syria is tragic, and any use of chemical weapons against civilians is reprehensible.
Since last Friday, I have been on calls with the Obama Administration and the House Armed Services Committee and will continue speaking with officials all week. Once I return to Washington, I will take part in classified briefings on the subject.
I am glad the President has decided to consult with Congress on the use of military force in Syria. He has an obligation to the American people to lay out the case for a strike in Syria prior to taking military action. With any military mission, we have to ask ourselves what we want to accomplish and how we are planning to achieve our stated goal.
Please take a moment to tell me where you stand on taking military action in Syria.

In the coming days, I will be evaluating all the facts and potential impacts surrounding the use of our military in Syria. Sending our military into action is one of the most important actions I can take as your representative, and I take that duty seriously.
Your Representative,
Brad Wenstrup
Ohio's 2nd Congressional District
