National Drug Take-Back Day |
Friend,
This Saturday, October 27th, is the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Drug Take-Back Day. Mark your calendars: from 10AM - 2PM, you can properly dispose of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs at certain locations in our communities, hosted by local police and sheriffs' departments.
Drug Take-Back Day is part of the effort to fight the opioid epidemic impacting so many of our friends, families, and neighbors here in Ohio's Second District. Fighting the opioid epidemic starts at a local level, with members of the community helping each other with both recovery and prevention. It is up to each of us to raise awareness and take steps to cut the supply of prescription opiates, which too often act as a gateway to heroin and other dangerous drugs.
Locations all across southern and southwest Ohio will be collecting unwanted prescription drugs for disposal this Saturday. Click above to find a nearby collection site. For more information about National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day in our communities, check out the DEA website here.
In your service,
P.S. President Trump just signed the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act, our biggest commitment yet in the fight against opioid addiction. This bipartisan package of bills is targeted towards advancing treatment and recovery initiatives, improving addiction prevention, protecting our communities, and bolstering efforts to fight deadly synthetic drugs like fentanyl. |
