WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 184, the Protect Medical Innovation Act of 2018, which permanently repeals Obamacare’s 2.3 percent tax on medical devices, from wheelchairs to pacemakers. Wenstrup is an original cosponsor of the legislation.
“We should be encouraging medical innovation, not taxing it away and adding to patient costs. As an original cosponsor, I am proud to vote to repeal the medical device tax. This is another concrete action to encourage medical advancement and decrease health care costs for Ohioans,” said Congressman Brad Wenstrup.
