WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) released the following statement after the House passed the Navy SEAL Chief Petty Officer William ‘Bill' Mulder (Ret.) Transition Improvement Act of 2018 (H.R. 5649), the Gold Star Spouses Leasing Relief Act (H.R. 5882), and the Long-Term Care Veterans Choice Act (H.R. 5693).

“I want to thank my colleagues for advancing these important bills to support our veterans and Gold Star families. H.R. 5649 and H.R. 5693 continue our effort to invest in our troops from the day they take their oath of service through to their civilian careers by supporting and enhancing programs that ease the transition to civilian life and promote opportunities for lifelong success. H.R. 5882, the Gold Star Spouses Leasing Relief Act, will help unburden Gold Star widows following the death of their spouse by ensuring they are not trapped for the duration of a joint housing lease,” said Congressman Brad Wenstrup.
