Today, something special happened in Georgetown, Ohio. For the first time, the Traveling Vietnam War Memorial Wall came to Brown County; I was honored to be there to participate in the opening ceremony.

The traveling wall is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., which people from all over the nation come to visit, and remember their loved ones. Titled "The Wall that Heals," this traveling memorial serves as a way to honor those who gave their lives and to connect with communities, families, and veterans across the country, who may be unable to visit Washington.

It was wonderful to be able to connect with hundreds of constituents and hear their families' stories of service to this country.

To all the veterans in attendance at today's memorial ceremony: thank you for everything you've given up and quietly gone without in order to serve this country. Thank you for the long nights, the burdens shouldered, the birthdays and holidays missed. We are grateful.

May this wall serve as a way to honor your service, reunite with fellow servicemen and women, and commemorate those who have gone before. I will keep fighting in Congress for those who fought for us - click here to stay updated on my legislative work.
