Surface Transportation Reauthorization Funding Requests

This year, as the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure considers a bill to reauthorize federal surface transportation programs, the committee will provide an opportunity for members of Congress to submit requests for highway and transit project designations. Below are the projects I have submitted for consideration, which were community-driven with demonstrable support from the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Project Name: SR 32/Brooks-Malott Road Intersection

Location: Mt. Orab, Brown County, Ohio

Address: State Route 32/Brooks-Malott Road, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154

Description: The project would construct a new green-field full diamond interchange with connecting local roads on SR 32 near Mt. Orab, Brown County. The adjoining access from SR 32 to local roads to the east (Brooks-Malott) and west (Bodman) of the new interchange would be removed. Access to SR 32 would be provided to the interchange via the new local roads.

Project Name:
 Eastern Corridor, construction of overpass and partial interchange ramps on State Route 32 at Glen Este-Withamsville Road

Location: Batavia, Clermont County, Ohio

Project Sponsor: Ohio Department of Transportation

Address: State Route 32 at Glen Este-Withamsville Road, Batavia, Ohio, 45245

Description: This project would create a 7.5 mile free flow corridor by eliminating 3 traffic signals with the creation of a partial interchange at Glen Este-Withamsville Road and an interchange at Bach Buxton Road. The specific Phases for which funding is requested will construct the Overpass and partial interchange ramps of SR 32 at Glen Este Withamsville.

 Aicholtz Road Roundabouts

Location: Clermont County, Ohio

Project Sponsor: Clermont County Transportation Improvement District

Address: Aicholtz Road, Eastgate Square Drive to Glen Este Withamsville Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45245

Description: This project would provide congestion relief in the area, particularly along SR 32, by creating a new corridor for east-west travel and by converting several intersections to roundabouts.

Requested Amount: $2,000,000

Project Name: Interchange on I-75 to connect to the new Western Hills Viaduct (Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project)

Location: Hamilton County, Ohio

Project Sponsor: Ohio Department of Transportation

Address: I-75 from Findlay St. to just south of Marshall Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202

Description: This project would include the reconstruction of I-75 from Findlay St. to just south of Marshall Ave. This is the northern end of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project. The project includes the construction of a new interchange on I-75 to connect to the new Western Hills Viaduct.
