Wenstrup Votes Again to Keep Govt. Open & End Special Pass for Congress

Latest Bill Delays Individual Mandate, Ends Unlawful Congressional Subsidy

Representative Brad Wenstrup released the following statement on the third passage of a continuing resolution to keep the government open. The bill also delays the individual mandate by one year and ends an unlawful Obamacare subsidy for Congress:

“This is a simple matter of fairness for all Ohioans. The House passed a third bill that keeps the government open, ends an unlawful subsidy for Congress within Obamacare, and delays the individual mandate by one year.

“There is no reason Congress should get a pass while Ohioans suffer under Obamacare, and there is no reason that businesses get a break from Obamacare mandates while individuals are forced into a system that is not ready and does not work. It’s inconceivable to imagine the Senate failing to pass a bill that keeps the government open and treats every Ohioan fairly.”

Rep. Brad Wenstrup represents Ohio’s Second Congressional District. He serves on the House Armed Services and Veterans’ Affairs Committees. Before joining Congress in 2013, Wenstrup practiced as a physician for 26 years and served as a soldier in the Army Reserve for 15 years.
