Local military veterans honored

Cincinnati Enquirer

OWENSVILLE – After serving the U.S. in WWII, Vietnam and the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, local military veterans were honored in a medals ceremony at Pattison Park.

The ceremony organized by the Clermont County Veterans Services Commission honored 10 veterans in the Aug. 26 ceremony.

Brad Wenstrup, the U.S. representative for Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District and a veteran of the Iraq War, presented framed military service medals to the veterans, and in some cases, their family members.

In some cases, veterans received awards they’d earned but never received. Others were replacements for originals that were lost.

Veterans who were honored were James L. Farquer of Goshen, Robert W. Hoskinson of Batavia, Hal J. Lawrence of Cincinnati, Janis E. Perkins of Williamsburg, Donald Sheppard of Batavia, Paul R. Trenn of Loveland, Curtis L. Wilson of Owensville, David Alan Yetter of Amelia and James Arnold of Aberdeen. Medals also will be presented later to Marie Tudor for Orville Tudor.
