Subject: 153 House Republicans Support POTUS Call For Defense Budget

WASHINGTON - Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX) Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, together with 152 House Republicans, sent a letter to President Trump today supporting his call to restore America's military strength.

In his address to the UN General Assembly last month, President Trump said, "It has just been announced that we will be spending almost $700 billion on our military and defense. Our military will soon be the strongest it has ever been."

In supporting the President, Thornberry and 152 other House Republicans said,

"Restoring our military strength and defending the country is as important to America's success as reforming the tax code, ensuring healthcare for Americans and growing the economy. Any budget negotiation must make the national security of our nation a top priority. It is essential we fund our military at the right level as soon as possible."
