WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) released the following statement after a meeting yesterday with Qatar Ambassador to the United States, Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, and Qatari Defense Minister, Khalid bin Mohammad al Attiyah: “Qatar plays a key role in our global counterterrorism efforts, hosting over 11,000 service members and civilians working in support of US and allied operations in the Middle East. In our increasingly dangerous world, it’s critical that we maintain our strategic partnership. I had a productive conversation with Ambassador Al Thani and Defense Minister Al Attiyah to discuss ways we can strengthen our defense and counterterrorism relationship, and find constructive ways to address regional issues,” said Congressman Brad Wenstrup. |
