WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) was awarded the National Association of State Approving Agencies (NASAA) Lifetime Leadership Award. Wenstrup received this award in recognition of his lifetime of public service and tireless advocacy on behalf of America’s veterans. “The NASAA Lifetime Leadership Award is the highest award presented by the National Association of State Approving Agencies to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and personal sacrifice in the arena of public service,” said Dr. Joseph Wescott, NASAA Legislative Director. “We are particularly pleased to present this year’s award to Congressman Brad Wenstrup, who through his many years of service as a medical doctor, Army Reserve officer, and most recently, member of Congress, has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to servant leadership on behalf of his fellow man and particularly, American veterans. As such, he truly exemplifies the qualities we seek to honor with this award.” “Too often, when our men and women in uniform return home after their service to this country, finding a job and assimilating back into civilian life proves fraught with challenges,” said Congressman Brad Wenstrup. “Empowering our veterans with the educational assistance and opportunities they need in order to build their own futures is the least we can do, after all they have done. I am deeply grateful to NASAA for their efforts on this front and look forward to continuing to partner with them to ensure our veterans receive the benefits and opportunities they deserve and have earned.”
Congressman Wenstrup serves as Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Health Subcommittee and previously served as the Chairman of the Veterans’ Affairs Economic Opportunity Subcommittee during the 114th Congress.
