Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) released the following statement on the Speaker of the House elections:

"The American people elected Republicans to the House majority so we can hold the administration accountable, check Democrats’ wasteful spending, and advance conservative policies that make Americans more free," said Rep. Wenstrup. "Until a Speaker of the House is selected, we don’t have access to the tools to hold our federal government accountable; we cannot issue subpoenas, conduct investigations and hearings, provide for our security, cut spending, or improve our economy. My efforts to elect our Speaker is in advance of those goals – so we can get to work and get things done. Southern Ohioans elected me to be an effective voice for our needs on the issues that matter. As we continue to work towards electing a Speaker, I know that I am committed to representing you and advancing the needs of Southern Ohioans and all Americans."
