Washington, D.C. - Tomorrow, the GOP Doctors Caucus will host a press conference to highlight the alarming rise of fentanyl overdoses in America and House Republican legislation and solutions. BACKGROUND: The CDC released data last week projecting the number of overdose deaths in 2022, indicating there were nearly 110,000 deaths - many from fentanyl. This total is a new national record. The GOP Doctors Caucus is composed of 18 healthcare providers serving in Congress who utilize their medical expertise and backgrounds to develop patient-centered healthcare policy. Its members include those in the fields of general practice, cardiothoracic surgery, anesthesiology, podiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, dentistry, pharmacy, dermatology, urology, and emergency medicine. ### |
