GOP Doctors Caucus Statement on Provider Reimbursement Stability Act Gaining Traction

Washington, D.C. - Today, the Co-Chairs of the GOP Doctors Caucus issued the following statement in response to the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act of 2023 being favorably reported by House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health:

"Persistent cuts to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule have an outsized impact on independent physicians, small businesses, and patients in rural areas. Outdated policies and actuarially incorrect methodologies have forced the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to reduce reimbursements for physicians caring for patients insured by Medicare. These reimbursement cuts are compounded as inflation increases the cost of care today. As more beneficiaries receive coverage, we must ensure access to care is expanded across the country, not reduced."

"Fortunately, the GOP Doctors’ Caucus common-sense solution, the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act, has received broad, bipartisan support in Congress. We look forward to aggressively advocating for this legislation in the Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means Committees and passing it through the House of Representatives."

Over 100 national medical organizations and state medical societies expressed gratitude for the work of the GOP Doc Caucus reforming budget-neutrality policies.
